- About Me
- Born Rodney Lee Dorsey June 4, 1954 in Winter Park Florida. Went to Webster Elem., Glenridge Jr. High, Wymore Tech, and graduated from Winter Park High School.
In Junior high I played Tenior Sax in the band and throu diskkus and shotputt on the track team. Senior high I played tuba during marching season, and bartone sax during concert season. For 9 years all through junior and senior high school, I also played and tured with the band "The Five Souls" playing the Bass guitar.
After the band brokeup in 1973, I jound the US Navy October 22, 1973. Went to bootcamp in Orlando Florida. After bootcamp Febuary 1974, I was assigned to the USS Molala ATF 106 a fleet savage ship with a crew of 85 as a boatsinmate stationed at 32st Naval Bass in San Diego Ca.. Left San Diego May 1974 and crossed the Pacific Ocean to Hiawaii twice, Guam, Phillippens three time, Vietnam, Japan 3 times, Hong Kong, Korea twice, Singapore, and Tailand. Returned back to San Diego in Febuary 1975. During the ships stand down I was granted the chance to go to the Postal Clerk "A" school which I completed a 5 week course in 11 days. I took the Post Clerk exam and was a selectee for Post Clerk 3rd class.
Since the Molala didn't rate a Postal Clerk, I transfered to the US Reasoner FF 1063 a destroyer with a crew of 285 where I became the accountable Postal Clerk. After leaving the Navy in October 1976 I was in the inactive reserves intill June 1979.
When to work as a mail clerk for the San Diego Unified School District for 12 years. And during that time I went to Mira Mesa Jr college where I received an AA in Accounting and got married all in the same year 1981.
Now having a family to support I transfered to San Diego State University where I worked the the mail room. After a year on the job I was injured. Doctors said I wouldn't be able to do that type of work anymore so I went back to school. Took classes in spread sheet, data bass, and word processing. During that time to bring in some income R.L.D. Tax Preparer and Financial Services was born.
In 1991 death in the family required me to move back to Florida. I went back to school. Double majored at Orlando College in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Graduated in 1993 with a BSA and BSCIS degree. After graduation I worked in a number of jobs as a temp to get a feel of the job market. Started Grad school in June 1993 where I attended for a 1 1/2 years. Got burned out grades dropped and was kicked out.
At that point I ran up on some member of the band "The Five Souls" and we started a new group called "The Used Blues Band". Played the local clubs and around the state of Florida. During same time I went back to school and got my 5th year degree which is a BA degree in Business Administration. After Graduation in June 1998. I decided to rename the Business to R.L.D. Business & Financial Services. Because now the business services had grown to include Accounting , Bookkeeping, New Computer Sales, Computer Repair and Upgrades, Contract Negotiations, Desktop Publishing , Financial Planning, Software Development, System Design, Tax Preparation, and Webpage Design. After 7 years the guys decided that they where getting to old to be lugging music equipment around so the band brokeup.
In May 2002 I went University of Central Florida an took classes to take the test for the MCSA certification. So now computer networking has been added to my list of services.
In 2007 I became an EcoQuest authorize dealer. A supplier of Fresh Air, and Fresh Water Systems.

- I started my business during the mid 80's in San Diego CA., during a time when a lot of changes had begain in the way business was conducted. Alot of new technologies had come to the business the privite sector that had never been presented before. Personal computers, moble phones, computer software for businesss and private use and many other had came on the market.
Alot of small business like home daycare centers had begain to increase do to the need for mothers to go back to work. Those who were just starting out didn't have the finance to hire CPA's and Tax Professionals to provide bookkeeping and tax services for them. Thats why R.L.D. Business & Financial Services was started to give those who needed the business expertise, and couldn't afford a CPA or Tax Professional to help them get their business up and running.

Fresh Air In Our Homes
At my company, we are concern with the freshness of the air quality inside the home. I don't know about where you are, but here in the US since the early 70's the change in home construction has made great strides in the saving of electrical energy. However it has also caused the increase of indoor air pollution.
